| Price to Compare: This is the cost, usually given in cents per kilowatt hours for the generation portion of your electric bill. Example; 4.595 Generation cost/portion: Used in reference to the portion of your electrical bill that covers the generation or production of the product(electricity). Currently just figured into the whole bill, this in most instances makes up about 1/3 to 1/2 of the total bill. Transmission/Distribution cost/portion/fees: This part of the bill covers the delivery of the electricity from the generation point to your home, including the wires, poles, transformers, substations, etc. Deregulation: The freeing of regulation or control over the generation and supply of the utilities, in this case electricity. Aggragator: A group of people, communities, etc., that come together under the assumption that a larger group has more bargaining power. Rescind: Change your decision, in this case, usually in reference to changing suppliers. Rate Code: The classification of a customer for the purpose of determining what they will pay for electricity. Example; 10a is a standard residential rate Supplier: An unregulated company, organization, marketer, etc., that supplies the generated electricity. |
